Mooghaun Bronze Age Hillfort Walking Trail

This is a beautiful walk through a forested area leading up to a slight hill to Mooghaun Hill Fort, which is a large Bronze Age fort. The largest and most spectacular hoard of prehistoric gold in Western Europe was found at Mooghaun Lough 1km north of the hillfort. The mid clare way trail also goes through the Mooghaun Bronze Age Hillfort.
